Your articles always make me ponder and bring me peace simultaneously. Also, I went back to check your Instagram. I’ve been on there more often because... Hell, I don't even know. To bring more people here, I guess. But I always get depressed. People who regurgitate self-quotes consistently seem to find success, and someone who sporadically posts incredible pictures or shares deep thoughts doesn't. I wanted to share a story on Instagram with your pictures, and some quotes saying how maddening it is that accounts like these don't have a greater reach. But I thought I should ask for permission first. I also don't know if you agree.
It’s so good to see you and “hear” your words here. Thank you.
Instagram: you may have noticed that I haven’t posted in a while. I lost capacity to speak into a void decided by algorithms. I decided I didn’t want to play. And I walked away from IG without even saying goodbye, for the very reasons you share here. I’ve thought of returning with an arrow pointing to Substack.
Feel free to share. I thank you for thinking of me. I always hold you in such high regard for the ways you interconnect.
"We are the past. Even our tomorrows are the past acting itself out. We like to think we can step into the future by leaving the past behind, but that can’t be done." brilliant!
-- Great job on your essay, Renée. Your clear writing makes your ideas shine. The deep understanding and well-supported arguments make for a compelling read. Keep going! Xo.
I’m touched by the connection we’ve formed through our shared thoughts. Thank you for your kindness, and may our continued dialogue be filled with inspiration and understanding.
What a beautiful passage, worthy of long contemplation! I believe in letting posts cook until they smell so good in the oven that the guests practically help themselves straight from the baking sheet.
Yours sounds like it might be coming from a casserole dish. That's even better from a nutritional point of view. No complaints. 😉

PK understands timelessness so well
Thank you for sharing this passage.
Yes. He does. I sense he lives it. . . .
This gave me chills, Renee! I just started reading "In the Dark Places of Wisdom" last week. 🤗
Jenna,
I cannot wait to hear about your reading experience with Peter Kingsley! We have a growing list of things to explore in conversation. . . .

Casserole. What happened to the casserole?
Perhaps, the casserole is the beginning.
But to your point, may we writers give the casserole permission to cook long enough to smell so good.
😂👍🏼
Pipp,
Thank you. What if we could hold these stars every day to be a living truth? I wonder how it would transform us. . . .
With love,
Renée
